IM Karl Burger

(1933--2000), Doctor of Medicine, Retired to Augusta, GA in 1986 after many years in New York, A strong IM with two GM norms, Early chess database expert, Played hundreds of games with Bobby Fischer in his youth. 1993 Georgia State Champion

David Spinks

USCF Expert, Volunteer, Organizer, Tournament Director

Manager of Atlanta Chess Center 1992 - 2012.

Recipient of GCA Meritorious Service Award in 2024.

(Born 1921)

1972 Georgia State Champion
1959 Game with Bobby Fischer published in Fischer's My 60 Memorable Games. Long time south Georgia resident still active player in Pennsylvania.
