K-5 Chess Tournament at the Village Corner Bakery

Chess at the Village Corner Bakery
This is small venue with fewer rounds and fast play, freeing up much of the day to enjoy scenic
Stone Mountain Park
. There will be three rounds at the rate of game in 30 minutes (per player). Students will be in multiple sections, with a maximum of 8 students per section based upon rating. Prizes will be awarded to first three in each section. Unrated players will be assigned to a section based upon their age, with 50 rating points per year of age used to calculate the rating for purposes of section assignment and pairings.
As this is a rated tournament, USCF membership is required. One year scholastic membership is $17 without the magazine and $24 if you wish to receive the bi-monthly magazine Chess Life for Kids. You can register online at https://secure2.uschess.org/webstore/member.php or at the tournament.
Who: Open to chess players in grades 5 (6th grade in the fall) and below, limited to 40 students.
Details: 3 round Swiss System in sections of 8 or fewer.
Time Control is G/30 + 5s delay.
Rounds: 11:00, 1:00, 2:30
Registration and Payment: $20 in advance limited to first 40 registrations.

No On-Site Registration
For your convenience and consideration of other restaurant guests, you are asked to park in the parking area on the Main Street side by the Tournament Hall or on the gravel lot across from Wages (same side of the road as the restaurant) with a short jaunt down the sidewalk to the Tournament Hall.
