 EVENT OVERVIEW

Five rounds, Swiss System, a USCF rated event.

 Cost:  $30 per participant.

 Two Competitive Sections:

• 1.       Open (>1400):  Open to USCF players rated 1400 and above.
• 2.       Reserve (≤ 1400):  Open to USCF players rated equal to or below 1400.
• NOTE:  All players joining US Chess Federation at this event will enter as a 400 rated player (standard procedure).   Exceptions allowed only at Tournament Director’s approval.

• All participants must be registered members of US Chess Federation.  Membership can be applied for on-site, but please arrive 30-45 minutes earlier to allow time for application processing.  Membership cost for USCF depends on age ($20-40).  This cost is separate from the registration cost of this tournament.

• Competitive sections may be run as separate tournaments (participants only play members within their section) 

 Prizes:  100% of entry fee proceeds go to the winners.  Prizes are based on 40 registrations (20 per section). 

Open:      1^st place $312,   2^nd  $216,   3^rd $132. 

Reserve:  1^st place $252,   2^nd $180,   3^rd $108. 

 Time Control:  G/25 (25 minutes per side), increment 5 sec, USCF dual rated (regular and quick)

 Schedule:  Saturday, January 18, 2025.  On-site registration ends at 9:15 am.  All players, including pre-registrants, check in by 9:15 am.  Round start times:  R1 = 9:30 am; R2 = 10:45 am; Lunch Break 11:45-1:15 pm; R3 = 1:15 pm; R4 = 2:30 pm; R5 = 3:45 pm.    Byes: ½ point byes available.  Must request before 9:15 am.  0-point byes available for any round.

 Equipment:  Players are encouraged, but not required to bring their own chess clocks.  Phone app chess clocks will only be used as a last resort.

 Event Adress:  Carlton Center, Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, Tifton, GA. 31793.  For Google Maps just type in: Carlton Center, Tifton, GA.  Use the parking lot between the Carlton Center (library) and Donaldson Dining Hall.  Parking is free on weekends.  Donaldson Dinning Hall is open for lunch during the lunch break (and other times) for $10 (all you can eat buffet style).
