2nd Annual Summer Scorcher Grand Prix
4SS, G/45 d5 in 2 Sections. $1400 Gtd
EF: Early by July 10, $30; from July 10 – July 18, $40; and late after July 18 and onsite, $50. (Onsite by 9am or you may receive a Rd1 bye, no checks accepted onsite.)
Online Registration at www.championshipchess.net, click “Non-Scholastic Tournaments to Register and Pay,” enter “Scorcher Grand Prix” and Section. Current USCF ID# required. All mail entries, $40, postmarked by July 12.
$1400 Guaranteed Cash Prizes in 2 rated sections. Premier Section Guaranteed: $250, $150, $100, $75, $50 and $75 to top under 1800. Only players rated over 1499 may play up. Reserve Section Under 1600 Guaranteed: $200, $120, $90, $60, $40, plus $50 to top Under 1300, $50 to top Under 1100, $50 to top Under 900.
Both sections: $25 Cumulative upset prize based on wins/draws by rated players with higher rated players.
All Sections: Rd. 1 at 10am; then, 12pm, 2:30pm, 4:30pm. 1/2 point byes for rounds 1-3, confirmed before Rd. 1.
