Open to any player grade 12 and below.

4SS, G/30/d5 in rounds 1 - 4 except G/45/d5 in round 4 for the 2 top sections

 

Round Times: 10:30; 12:15; 2:00; 3:30 Cap: 250

 

7 SECTIONS: 5 Rated Sections, USCF membership required: Under 250, Under 500, Under 750, Under 1000 and Premier for players rated 1000 and above. Players may play up one section if ever within 50 points of the section. Notation is required in U-1000 and Premier. Unrated and New players wanting a rating can play in the U-250 or U-500. 2 Unrated Sections where players rated below 500 may also play. One Unrated Section is for Grade 3 and below; the other Unrated Section is for Grade 4 and above. No memberships required and no rating points received when playing in the Unrated Sections.

 

Entry Fee: Advance entry received by midnight Tuesday, September 12, the cost is $27.

 

Late registration is $32 through midnight Monday, September 18. From September 19 until midnight September 21 pay $37. No online registration Friday September 22. Onsite registrations okay at $40. Full refunds available, if requested by 9am Saturday. (At site, register by 9am to be paired for round #1. If later, you might get a 1/2 point bye in Rd #1.)

 

Byes: 1/2 Point Byes available only in Rounds 1-3. No byes in Round #4. Byes for Round #1 must be made when you register. Byes for Rounds 2 & 3 made when registering or before Round #1.

 

Register online at: www.championshipchess.net and click Register, choose Tournament, and follow steps to register and pay for the Fall Kickoff. Current USCF ID# required to be paired for Round 1, unless playing in an unrated section. Trophies to all players with a plus score. Special Chess Medals to all players in the Unrated Section who don’t receive a trophy. The Premier Section: 1st place $100 and 2nd place $50 prizes, in addition to trophies.

 

School/Team Trophies: Special 1st and 2nd Team/5 Trophies for players in Rated sections. To qualify there must be at least 5 players from a school playing rated. Details TBA.

***SPECIAL TEAM TROPHIES: Every school with 12 or more players participating, and not placing 1st or 2nd, qualifies for an ALL STAR TEAM TROPHY***

National Master Tim Brookshear, Life Master Dave Vest and other top Championship Chess Coaches will be available between rounds to review games.
