Middle School/High School Competition 1

Open to Grades 5th-12th

Who: This tournament is designed to give Middle School and High School players a structured but friendly environment for competitive play. Tournaments are planned to be held quarterly, and may be held more frequently as demand requires.

Format: Rated: 5-SS, G/30 with 5 second delay
Sections: 4 Sections, 7 Classes: Rated Middle School (5th, 6th, 7th, 8th Grades), Rated High School (9th, 10th, 11th,12th). Non-rated Middle School (5th, 6th, 7th, 8th Grades), Non-rated High School (9th, 10th, 11th,12th). Rated players with USCF <=1000 may play in Non-rated Sections. Section eligibility will be determined by the February published rating.
Entry Fee: Free on-line registration. On-Site registration $25 from 8:30-9:30a. Proceeds will only be used to maintain this series of middle-school / high school tournaments.
Rounds: 10am, 11:30am, 1pm, 2:30pm, 4pm - Expect rounds to begin promptly.
½ point bye available in any round. Limit 2. Please request changes 30 min prior to the start of the round.
Prizes: 1st, 2nd, 3rd place trophy for each section. 1st and 2nd place trophy for each grade represented.
Parking: Wells Fargo parking lot 350 Ferst St NW, Atlanta GA 30332 ST NW across the road from the Student Center is free. Area 2 at the Student Center is $5 after 5pm. Lot W23 is FREE. Parking map is here.
