Who: open to all Georgia students in grades 9-12th with a USCF membership.


Sections: 4 Sections (one for each grade) 9-12th grade.  Your child MUST register to play in his/her grade.  Sections may be combined.  Manual pairings will be used to pair players within their own grade to the extent possible.


Entry fee:  $30 (online only)


Registration for all: Online registration until midnight, Wednesday, November 11th. There is no on-site registration.


Format: 4 round, rated, Swiss-Style, G45/d5 (45 min per player w/5 sec delay)


Schedule: 10:00 – 11:45 – 1:30 – 3:15


Byes: You may take 1 bye. Only zero point byes are available in all rounds.


Prizes: Plaques to 1st place, ribbons to all players. $100 stipend to 1st place winner of each grade to attend the 2015 National K-12 Grade Level Championships in Florida (Dec.4-6)*.


Award ceremonies will be ASAP after last round ends. 1st round pairings will be posted by 9:15am.  No changes can be made after pairings are up for the first round.  It is the parent or player's responsibility to arrive early enough to verify that the information is correct or to have errors fixed before Round 1 begins.  We will post registration updates on the website but the FINAL registration list will be posted at the tournament.  Accelerated pairings may be used at the TD’s discretion.


Please note: USCF membership required. Sets and boards supplied. Bring your chess clock.  If one player brings a clock and requests its use both players must use the clock.

*1st place winners must attend National Grade Levels to receive the $100 stipend.


Note: photos may be taken of your child and published on our news site (esp winners with trophies).  Please contact us if you do not want your child's photo published.
