2nd Annual Championship Chess K-12 Winter Blast

Open to any player in grade 12 and below
4SS, G/30/d5 in rounds 1 - 3 and G/4/d5 in round 4 Rounds: 10:30; 12:15; 2:00; 3:30
4 SECTIONS: 3 rated sections, USCF membership required: Under 600, 600 - 999 and Premierfor players rated 1000 and above. Players may play up one section if within 100 points of the section. There will be one Unrated Section where players rated below 600 may also play. No memberships required and no rating points received when playing in the Unrated Section. New and unrated players wishing to get a rating, play in Under 600.
Advance entry received by midnight Wednesday, December 25, the cost is $25; late registration is $30 through December 31. After December 31, pay $35. Onsite registrations ok at $35. (At site, register by 9am and you will be paired for round #1. If you register later, then you might get a 1/2 point bye in round #1.)
1/2 Point Byes available only in rounds 1-3. Please request byes when you register.
Register online at: www.championshipchess.net and click “K-12 Tournaments.” Tournament Name: Winter Blast. Current USCF ID# required to be paired for Rd. 1, unless playing in unrated section.
Trophies to all players with a plus score and two team trophies, sponsored by H2K Infosys, will be awarded to the2 schools with the most points, based on 5 players combined, in the 3 rated sections. Points are earned by 1 for each point in the Under 600 Section, 1.5 points for each point in the 600- 999 Section and 2 points for each point in the Premier Section.
$100 top prize in the Premier Section, in addition to the trophies.
Tournament preparation at the Church at Decatur Heights 735 Sycamore Drive, Decatur, GA 30030 on FRIDAY, JANUARY 2nd plus the tournament special price $75 by December 25th.
