  • registration for K-12 scholastic players. you must have a USCF membership to play in this event and will need the ID# , exp. date & published rating to complete the form.

*registration is closed. next scholastic event is the Georgia Grade Levels on Nov 2nd.*

Georgia Individual Scholastic Championship

 

Who:    Open to all K-12 students with USCF membership.

 

Format:          Five rounds, Swiss System pairings, G/25;d5 (Game in 25 minutes with a five second delay)

Sections:        Rated K-1, K-3, K-5, K-8, K-12

                       

Entry fee:       $25 online only.  Round pairing will begin promptly at 9:30. Preliminary announcements will begin at 9:30am. Arrive by 9:30.


Registration: Online only.  Deadline is Thursday Oct 17th.  There is no onsite registration.


Rounds:          10am – 11:15 am – 1:00 pm – 2:15 pm – 3:30 pm.  Awards ceremony ASAP after last round.


Byes:             Two byes are allowed.  ½ point byes are available in rounds 1-4, only zero point byes are available in round 5. Must request before pairings are up for the first round.


Prizes: Trophies awarded to Top 3 and all players with a plus score 3.0 or better within each of the sections.  October supplement used as current published rating.


Membership: 

USCF membership required for all participants.  

GCA membership optional.

Volunteers:    Full-Day volunteers will receive one free entry for their child/student and lunch; specify when registering. 


Please note:   

Sets and Boards supplied for tournament only.  Please bring clocks. Concessions available.                                   

Minors and particularly children under the age of 13 are required to be under the supervision of a  responsible adult for the duration of the event.  The tournament directors and organizers DO NOT count as responsible adults for this purpose.  The Georgia Chess Association takes care to use parent volunteers to be alert for child safety, but does not take responsibility for  unsupervised children.
