Championship Chess 5th Annual K-12 Thanksgiving Classic

 

 

Open to any player in grade 12 and below.

 

Play at the North DeKalb Mall, 2042 Lawrenceville Hwy., Decatur, GA 30033.

 

4SS, G/30, d5 in Rds. 1- 3 and G/45, d5 Rd. 4. 
Rounds 10:30-12:15-2:00-3:30.

 

IN 4 SECTIONS: 3 rated sections, USCF membership required: Novice Section for players rated under 600 and unrated players wanting to become rated, Reserve Section for players rated from 500-999 and Premier Section for players rated over 899. 
There is one unrated section for players without a rating and ok for players rated below 600. No memberships required and no rating points received when playing in the Unrated Section.

 

Advance entry received by November 24th is $25, then $30 until Nov 27th.After Nov 27th the fee is $35. Onsite registrations ok at $35 by 9am and you will be paired for round #1.

If you register later then you might get a 1/2 point bye in round #1.

Half point Byes available only in rounds 1-3. There are no 4th round byes. If you choose not to play round 4 you must withdraw and you receive a zero for this round. Players who miss a round without ample notice may be fined $25.

 

Register online at: www.championshipchess.net, click “Tournaments to Register and Pay.” In “School or Event Location” field, type Thanksgiving Classic and your section.

Current USCF ID# required to be paired for Rd. 1, unless playing in unrated section.

 

Trophies to all players with a plus score. The Premier Section has a $100 top prize and $50 2nd Prize to be used for chess expenses. 2 team trophies sponsored by H2K Infosys will be awarded to the schools with the most points combined in the 3 rated sections. Each player receives 2 times their score in Premier, 1.5 times in the Reserveand actual points in the Novice Section. The 5 players from a school with the most points in rated sections is the Team Score. To be eligible for these trophies a team must have at least 5 players in rated play and must submit their score to the TD during round #3.
