Registration

  • Participation in this tournament requires current USCF & GCA memberships. If you live in Georgia you must join the Georgia Chess Association to participate in this event. First renew/join if you are not current, then come back and register.
  • IM/GM/WIM/WGM play for free. Contact webteam@georgiachess.org for the code to register. If you live in Georgia you must have a current GCA membership.
  • Non-Georgia Residents are not eligible to win trophies, but are eligible to win cash prizes. If you live in Georgia, you must choose GA resident and become a GCA member.

    USCF registration is required to participate in this tournament.

2014 Georgia Class Championships

Date:      November 21-23 or 22-23, 2014


Who:      All USCF members. GA residents require GCA memberships.


Format:  5-SS, G/120; d5 (for 2-day schedule, Rd 1 is G/90; d5).


Prizes & Sections: $3,510 based on 90 entries, 65% Guaranteed

Premier: $500-400-300, U2200 $225-150-100. 

Class A (1800-1999): $200-125-75. 

Class B (1600-1799): $200-125-75. 

Class C (1400-1599): $200-125-75. 

Class D (1200-1399): $200-100-75. 

U1200/Unrated: $100-60.

Unrated: $100   (Treated as class prize within U1200)

Players may play one section above current published rating if within 100 points. (Official Nov. published rating used). Trophy to top Georgia resident each section, top under 2200 in Premier section. Note: Under 2200 is not a separate section. 

 

Entry fee:    $60 on-line by Nov.20. $70 on-site. Free entry to IM/GM/WIM/WGM.

 

Registration:   Online registration deadline Nov. 20 (Thu) at www.georgiachess.org.  Registration cap is 300.

On site registration: Nov 21 (Fri) 5:30-6:30pm for 3-day, Nov 22 (Sat) 8:30-9:30 am for 2-day.

 

Rounds:   3 day schedule: 11/21 (Fri): 7pm; 11/22 (Sat): 2pm, 7pm; 11/23 (Sun): 10am, 3pm.

2 day schedule: 11/22 (Sat): 10am (G90;d5), then merges with 3 day schedule. 

 

Byes:   One ½ point bye available in rounds 1-4. Zero point bye available in round 5.  2nd byes are also zero point byes. Players may play in declared bye rounds, but additional points do not count towards prizes.  Must commit when entering. No changes.

Please note:  USCF membership required for all players. GCA membership required for GA residents.  Sets and boards supplied. Please bring clocks.
